Pap test

A smear sample is taken from the cervix for the Pap test or Pap smear. Five classifications provide information on the severity of the change. Pap I and II are harmless. A Pap III result is considered abnormal. However, in most cases, an abnormal Pap test does not mean that there is cervical cancer.
